If there were ever a story that many of us wish would just go away, it’s the Jeffrey Epstein saga. The tale of the late convicted pedophile is sordid, creepy, and disturbing; meanwhile, many believe that he didn’t actually commit suicide in 2019 in his NYC Metropolitan Correctional Center jail cell.
His former girlfriend and convicted accomplice, British publishing heiress Ghislaine Maxwell, is still around, however, but the Supreme Court just told her they’re not interested in revisiting her case:
The Supreme Court declined Monday to hear an appeal from the former girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein, brushing aside an argument from Ghislaine Maxwell that she should have been shielded from prosecution under a plea agreement that Epstein struck with federal authorities.
Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison in 2022 for carrying out a years-long scheme with Epstein to groom and sexually abuse underage girls. In her appeal at the Supreme Court, filed in April, Maxwell argues she should have been covered by a non-prosecution agreement Epstein secured as part of his agreement to plead guilty in Florida.

New: Oversight Committee Releases 33,000+ Epstein-Related Docs Subpoenaed From DOJ
As we’ve reported, Democrats have been desperately trying to tie President Donald Trump to Epstein’s depraved story, but they’ve had little success, as there isn’t much “there there.” There are photographs of the two at Mar-a-Lago, and a juvenile birthday note that Trump allegedly wrote to the financier—which Trump adamantly denies—but not much else. Maxwell, meanwhile, has gone on record to say she never witnessed anything scandalous in Donald Trump’s friendship with Epstein.
Her attorneys vow to fight on:
“We’re, of course, deeply disappointed that the Supreme Court declined to hear Ghislaine Maxwell’s case,” Maxwell’s lawyer, David Oscar Markus, said. “But this fight isn’t over. Serious legal and factual issues remain, and we will continue to pursue every avenue available to ensure that justice is done.”
The New York-based 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against Maxwell, finding that the agreement made with prosecutors in Florida did not bind the authorities in New York.
She was convicted of being a willing accomplice and a facilitator for Epstein’s perverted lifestyle:
…prosecutors charged Ms. Maxwell, accusing her of helping to recruit the girls whom Mr. Epstein abused and of participating in the abuse herself. A federal trial judge found that Ms. Maxwell had benefited from Mr. Epstein’s deal with prosecutors but that she was not immune from prosecution.
A jury in New York convicted her, and in June 2022, a federal judge sentenced her to 20 years in prison, saying that she played a central role in the sexual abuse scheme.
Democrats seemed to care little about the whole story when Biden was in office and had Merrick Garland serving as his attorney general. Now, they are obsessed with it, hoping they can somehow taint Trump, or worse. So far, it hasn’t been very successful.
Meanwhile, Maxwell will stay behind bars, although this summer she was transferred to a lower-security prison in Texas in exchange for cooperating with DOJ investigators. Perhaps we’ll be lucky enough not to have to hear about the Epstein case for a while.
