Olympic boxer, Nicola Adams together with her girlfriend Ella Baig have announced they are ready for their first child.
Adams, 39, who grew to be the first woman to earn a boxing Olympic honor in 2012, announced the news in social media, saying she had been “so excited” her family members was growing.
Alongside a photograph of the couple kissing together with an ultrasound scan, the lady said: “After what is like a lifetime, we can finally point out we’re going to be parents!
“We’re so excited to share this kind of magical journey with you all, often the ups, the downs every little thing in between.
“Welcome to the planet little one.”
Writing in Vogue, the previous Strictly contestant said often the couple had gone through 2 rounds of unsuccessful IVF, with Baig, 23, troubled a miscarriage. She is at this point in the woman second trimester.
Adams opened up about her concerns about trying to consider as some sort of homosexual couple.
“I think there’s still a stigma attached to the IVF process and, for same-sex couples, there’s an additional coating of complexity,” the lady said.
“All of this ought to be spoken about more widely. People need to get educated about this process to ensure that they’re not going into this completely blind. The information is offered but we really had to get for it.”
