One of the things that hurt Kamala Harris’ 2024 presidential campaign was her reluctance to distance herself from then-President Joe Biden. The killer moment came during a friendly interview on “The View” when co-host Sunny Hostin asked her what she would do differently than Biden and she couldn’t come up with anything.
“If anything, would you have done something differently than President Biden during the past four years?”
KAMALA: “There is not a thing that comes to mind.”

Well, it looks as if she might have learned her lesson on that, if her July 4th post is any indication. We reported on the reaction to what she said in that post.

What she said was just nonsense about things getting worse, as things are getting better after the disaster that she and Joe Biden left. What a downer of a holiday message, but that’s what you would have gotten with Harris – things getting worse.
Instead, with President Donald Trump what you’ve gotten is unprecedented success for the American people, including lower inflation and unemployment, the stock market at record highs, border security, Iran’s nuclear facilities taken out, and a ceasefire between Iran and Israel thrown into the bargain.
For her to recognize that would be to acknowledge that Trump has already helped to clean up a lot of the mess she and Joe left.

I guess she thinks their connection is Joe-ver.
Was she trying to be “unburdened by what has been”? The problem for her is it’s a little too late to try distancing herself from Joe Biden now. She’s completely on the hook for the mess they left behind. She can’t try to shake it off no matter how hard she tries.
Then too, I think it’s a little funny that she’s excising Joe when it’s a view from the White House balcony because I don’t think she will ever get there on her own. It looks like she wants the job. So it’s a bit like wish casting that’s not going to happen. Can you imagine how funny it would be to have her go up in a debate with Vice President JD Vance? Oh, please, do put her forward, Democrats; that would be something to see. She can’t even put out something as simple as a Fourth of July message. She couldn’t even say why the day is special to us, sort of a basic part of such a message. It was just a downer.
