It was the poignant sight summing up the devastating schism that has left a gaping hole in the Beckham family.
As Victoria Beckham proudly showed her new clothing collection at Paris Fashion Week last night there was a painfully obvious omission in the front row – her beloved son Brooklyn.
For so many years this had been a family affair. Brooklyn was staunchly supportive of his mother’s VB label and would always be there, sat with his father David and siblings Romeo, Cruz and little sister Harper to cheer Victoria on. They, more than anyone, knew what blood, sweat and at times tears went into her show.
But the 26-year-old influencer was notably absent from the family line-up at the Val-de-Grace church and monastery in the French capital yesterday, along with his wife Nicola Peltz, 30, following the devastating fallout that has seen David and Victoria’s eldest son being estranged from the wider Beckham and Adams families.
Last year Brooklyn and Nicola were proudly in attendance for the event, dressed in his and hers tuxedos. It was, rather sadly, one of the last times that Posh and Becks saw their son and daughter-in-law.
Still, Victoria, 51, had plenty to smile about as she presented her Spring Summer 2026 collection in the French capital in a grey power suit from her own collection, with the jacket costing £990 and the matching trousers £590.
Husband David, of course, took pride of place on the front row alongside Harper, 14, looking adorable in a baby-pink floor-length gown from her mum’s new collection.
Youngest son Cruz, 20, was also in attendance with his girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 30, who has become very close to the Beckham clan and rarely misses a family get-together.

Sources say that the Brazilian singer, who bears an uncanny likeness both in looks and style to her boyfriend’s mother, has become something of a muse to Victoria, and naturally chose to attend the event dressed in one of her designs.
The couple were photographed prior to the show, and used the cameras’ presence for their own publicity purposes: Cruz wore a T-shirt bearing the date, 24.10.25 which, we are told, is when he’ll be making a big announcement of his own, probably linked to his music career.
For the main event Jackie wore a navy frock from the forthcoming range which matched her boyfriend Cruz’s polka dot long line jacket which was made by Victoria’s atelier especially for the event.
Middle son Romeo was also there, though without a plus-one: he’s been single since splitting from his girlfriend, DJ Kim Turnbull in June.
Victoria’s parents, Jackie and dad Tony, had travelled to Paris to cheer their daughter on, along with members of David’s family.
Also in attendance was Vogue supremo Dame Anna Wintour, a close friend of Victoria’s, as well as Hollywood actress Eva Longoria.
While I’m told that David and Victoria have very much accepted that Brooklyn doesn’t want to have any relationship with them anymore, his absence will bring a tinge of sadness over what has become such an event in the Beckham family calendar.
What perhaps makes his no-show so sad is that Brooklyn always used to adore being around his family, especially at big events such as one of his mother’s shows.

What a difference 12 months makes… pictured together at last year’s show were Eva Longoria, Nicola Peltz, Brooklyn, Romeo, Jackie and Cruz
And Victoria, too, seemed to be bolstered by the support of all her children.
A source close to the family says: ‘The Beckhams love being together and it is sad for the whole family when someone, on this occasion Brooklyn and Nicola, aren’t there. But sadly it doesn’t look like there will be a reconciliation anytime soon, David and Victoria know that.
‘Brooklyn has left them with no doubts that he’s not interested in engaging with them for the time being. They are respecting his boundaries.
‘They have accepted it, which has been hard, and they are desperately worried about him. Brooklyn always loved being around his family, he was so family-orientated, as is Nicola, but at the moment there is a schism in the family which has kept them apart for six months now.’
I’m told that there have been no discussions within Victoria’s team or her family this week over whether the couple will be at the show because, say friends, there was simply no expectation for them to be there.
Such is, say friends, the depth of the family divide.
But the fact the couple were missing from the front row does show just what a difference 12 months can make.
When Brooklyn and Nicola were there last September, they were all smiles, and there was no hint of the troubles that lay ahead. It was one of the last times they saw David and Victoria – and of course the couple’s other three children. They got together last Christmas in Miami and again in the spring but they haven’t been in the same room since.
Brooklyn and Nicola missed Victoria’s autumn/winter 2025 catwalk show in March, and it was at the end of that month that they snubbed David’s first 50th birthday party at Cipriani restaurant in Miami. The couple later refused to join the former England football captain for any of his milestone celebrations.
And there was yet more sadness in August when Brooklyn and Nicola renewed their wedding vows at her father Nelson Peltz’s home in Westchester County in upstate New York but didn’t invite any of his family – nor were any of his friends from his life before Nicola there.
Next week will see another huge event in the Beckham family diary, when Posh fever is anticipated across the globe, on the release of her Netflix documentary, Victoria Beckham.
