South Carolina Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace implied at a Thursday press conference that the US Department of Justice has been spying on members of Congress while discussing a Wednesday Capitol Hill  appearance by Attorney General Pam Bondi

MAGA firebrand Nancy Mace suggested Thursday that the Justice Department is spying on lawmakers after a viral leak of Attorney General Pam Bondi’s notes.

Bondi was captured by eagle-eyed photographers with a binder full of notes during a combative hearing at the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday. It included pages which appeared to list the search history of lawmakers who were permitted by the Justice Department to review redacted files.

‘She had her folder open, and you saw an image of a search history, of a member of Congress in the software, in the database,’ Mace said at a press conference in her home state of South Carolina.

‘Why is the DOJ – why is the Attorney General – carrying around a folder of the search histories of members of Congress who only simply want the truth?’

Mace, who sits on the Republican-led House Oversight Committee, said that Bondi should be brought to testify ‘because I have a lot of tough questions for her.’

The now-viral image of Bondi’s notes was labelled ‘Jayapal Pramila Search History’, in reference to US Representative Pramila Jayapal, a Washington State Democrat and member of the House Judiciary Committee.

Jayapal’s search history included some of the most shocking phrases that had been seen in publicly redacted versions of the Epstein emails.

The congresswoman had looked up emails containing phrases such as ‘I love the torture video,’ ‘your littlest girl was a little naughty,’ ‘3 very good young girl,’ as well as the Epstein victim list.

Mace is a member of the Oversight Committee, which has taken a prominent role in investigating individuals mentioned in the Epstein Files.

The DOJ released over three million Epstein Files last month, but many documents were heavily redacted. Monday marked the first time members of Congress could view the unredacted files on DOJ computers.

Another estimated three million files still remain unreleased.

‘When she was asked a tough question, she discussed the Dow and how high the stock market was doing,’ Mace said disapprovingly, adding, ‘It’s shameful.’

Instead of answering the question before her, Bondi pivoted to touting Trump administration wins that have little to do with the DOJ’s work.

‘They are talking about Epstein today. This has been around since the Obama administration… The Dow is over 50,000 right now… Americans’ 401(k)s and retirement savings are booming. That’s what we should be talking about,’ Bondi noted.

The Dow comment, in particular, has drawn a plethora of online mockery, attracting attention far beyond the circles that typically comment on politics.

Despite the national ridicule, Bondi seems to have kept at least one person happy – President Donald Trump.

‘AG Pam Bondi, under intense fire from the Trump Deranged Radical Left Lunatics, was fantastic at yesterday’s Hearing on the never-ending saga of Jeffrey Epstein,’ Trump wrote Thursday in a Truth Social post backing Bondi.
