Sean Swayze, the younger brother of Patrick Swayze, has passed away at age 63.
Sean died on December 15th in the Los Angeles region, his son Jesse Swayze told TMZ.
A death certificate obtained by the outlet reveals that Sean died as a result of acute upper gastrointestinal bleed and severe metabolic acidosis caused by cirrhosis of the liver – a condition which occurs late in chronic liver disease and one which sees healthy liver tuned into scar tissue, according to Cleveland Clinic.
The death certificate also revealed several other details about Sean, including his occupation, which was listed as ‘Teamster’ in he Entertainment industry.
The death comes 16 years after Sean’s older brother Patrick died at age 57 following a battle with pancreatic cancer.

‘I’m heartbroken to share that my cousin Sean Swayze passed away today,’ she wrote last month. ‘This is a picture he took recently for us to promote the Dirty Dancing crawfish theme.
‘My daughter, a marketing manager, came up with this idea to honor our late cousin, Patrick Swayze. We sent the T-shirts to Sean, who wore them proudly for us. He was always fun and full of life.
‘Just recently, we were talking about him coming down to Texas to spend time with us, and I was really looking forward to it. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his brother Don Swayze and his children, Cassie Swayze , Kyle Swayze and Jesse Swayze.
‘We are praying hard for the entire family during this difficult time. Please know that we love you and are always here for you. Sean, I love you so much, and we will miss you dearly.’
The T-shirt was a reference to the film Dirty Dancing, which starred his famous brother.
Patrick was nominated for a Golden Globe award for his work in Dirty Dancing, in which he taught Jennifer Grey’s awkward Baby to dance and to become true to herself.
The film debuted at the Cannes Film Festival and opened in theaters August 21, 1987.
He continued to hone his craft in the romantic drama Ghost in 1990 with Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg.

The film won two Oscars for best original screenplay and a best supporting actress award for Whoopi as a psychic who helped the Swayze’s character communicate with his bereaved girlfriend and keep her safe.
In his autobiography Time of My Life, Patrick revealed he wasn’t as confident in love scenes as he appeared on screen. ‘Of all the scenes I ever shot, I probably felt least confident about the love scenes.’
‘So it’s ironic that the clip of Demi and me at the pottery wheel is one of the best known of my whole career.’
Patrick who had been earning a reputation as an action star, as well as a romantic lead, surprised audiences when he signed on to star as a drag queen in the comedy, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar.

In a resurfaced interview with Bryant Gumble on the Today show in 1995, the star said playing the role of Vida was special for him.
‘So what started out to be a fun lark, you know, where I was going to just have a kick and be outrageous, it turned out to be the most emotional experience I’ve ever had.’
Patrick was married to Lisa Niemi from 1975 until his death. She has since remarried.
‘I don’t think there’s anything I don’t miss about him,’ Niemi shared with Entertainment Tonight.
