In addition to using the apps to promote upcoming projects and collaborations, she also shares events from her personal life.

In March last year, Paula revealed the deaths of her two beloved dogs in the same week.

‘I lost two of my precious angels – Tinkerbell and Charity. A big piece of my heart is missing,’ she wrote at the time.

‘So grateful to have been their Mommy and for all the unconditional love they gave me for all these years. It’s amazing the kind of love a dog provides – it’s truly a gift from God ♥️.’

The Straight Up singer also shared closeups of Tinkerbell, who appeared to be a black and white long haired chihuahua, and a cute snap of Charity, a terrier, with its tongue hanging out.

Paula has had many small dogs over the years, and she regularly shares photos and videos of them on Instagram.

In 2010, the American Humane Society recognised the former American Idol judge for her support of its Pets and Women’s Shelters (PAWS) program, which helped remove barriers for women fleeing abusive relationships by finding housing for their pets.

Paula served as a spokesperson for the program, and similar efforts have sprung up in recent years.

Though she’s clearly attached to her cute pooches, being a dog owner hasn’t been all fun and games for her.

Back in 2007, Reuters reported that Paula fell while trying to avoid stepping on one of her chihuahuas, breaking her nose and one of her toes in the process.

Last year, she appeared in the reality comedy film Impractical Jokers, which was released to select theatres in February 2020.

She plays a version of herself in the film, which also featured the cast of the truTV series Impractical Jokes, featuring Brian ‘Q’ Quinn, James ‘Murr’ Murray, Sal Vulcano and Joe Gatto, who constitute the Staten Island–based improv group The Tenderloins.

Their TruTV show premiered in December 2011 and was recently renewed for a 26-episode ninth season.

Their film is inspired by their hidden camera reality game show series and produced by the humour video site Funny or Die.
