The Eagles have reportedly agreed a one-year deal with Dallas Goedert to keep the tight end in Philadelphia for a ninth season.

Goedert has been with the Eagles since being selected in the second round – 49th overall – in the 2018 NFL Draft.

He helped Nick Sirianni’s team win Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs and was a crucial weapon for Jalen Hurts in 2025.

The tight end finished the season with 591 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. Only Rams wide receiver Davante Adams (14) scored more regular season receiving touchdowns than Goedert.

According to ESPN, the Eagles and the tight end had previously agreed to push back the void date of his previous contract to Monday.

Had that deadline passed without an agreement, the Eagles would have been forced to take a dead money charge of more than $20m

Twelve months ago – as Goedert entered the final season of a four-year, $57m deal – the 31-year-old was the subject of trade speculation. In the end, the two sides negotiated a reworked deal worth up to $11m.

Meanwhile, trade talks over Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown have reportedly been reduced to a faint murmur.

Both the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots are said to be interested in Brown, whose apparent displeasure in Philadelphia was running storyline throughout 2025. But The Athletic reports no trade is imminent.

At least for now, the Rams appear to be out of the running for the three-time All-Pro after focusing their assets on defense.

Just last week, LA swapped its first-round, fifth-round and sixth-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft as well as the team’s third rounder in 2027 for Kansas City Chiefs star cornerback, Trent McDuffie. The Rams have since signed the All-Pro to a four-year, $124 million contract extension.

Besides, the Rams have $33.8 million in cap space tied up with receivers Davante Adams and Puka Nacua, the latter of whom is in line for a massive contract extension.

It’s still unclear if the Patriots will add Brown, a soon-to-be 30-year-old receiver rumored to be interested in a new contract after the 2026 season. But according to Pro Football Talk, New England remains the favorite to land the Ole Miss product.
