Philippines prepared to talk about expanding doble VTL with S’pore in order to more destinations

Indonesians are prepared to talk about the possibility of growing the bilateral Vaccinated Vacation Lanes (VTL) to additional destinations, Prime Minister Windschatten Hsien Loong shared through the media doorstop held following the Singapore-Indonesia Leaders’ Retreat throughout Bintan was concluded with Jan. 25.

He contributed that even as both places may not be ready to implement the idea at the moment, he invited Philippines to discuss this so that if the conditions are suitable, both places are able to do so.

Indonesia wishes the travel bubble as a success

PM Lee said that Singapore has opened up to travel by Jakarta through the VTL unilaterally.

As for Indonesia, they may have initiated a travel real estate to Batam and Bintan.

He added that Philippines would like to make the travel real estate a success so more Singaporeans will visit the islands.

“We will discuss with them to observe how we can expedite things,” he said

Covid-19 scenario in Singapore and Philippines “not completely synchronised”

However, this individual added that opening up even more will depend on the Covid-19 scenario in both countries as Indonesia’s Covid-19 situation “is definitely not completely synchronised” with Singapore’s.

“When our Covid-19 figures are high, like these days, and their Covid-19 numbers are usually lower than ours, they are the natural way concerned about us,” EVENING Lee said.

“Sometimes all of our Covid-19 numbers are reduced, and their Covid-19 numbers are usually higher than ours, which got happened, and then we are interested in them,” he included.

As such, for each countries to open up as well, it is not easy.

Nonetheless, Singapore has brought the step to open plan Jakarta, while Indonesia has brought this step with Batam together with Bintan, PM Lee stated.

Travel bubble announced

On By. 24, Indonesia’s Coordinating Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) for Economy, Airlangga Hartato, said during a press convention that travellers from Singapore can enter the islands associated with Batam and Bintan with no quarantine.

Visitors, however, can merely interact with those in the travel bubble zone and enjoy the activities within the real estate according to their itinerary.

Hartato said that the travel real estate was announced to drive travel and leisure in Batam and Bintan, adding that the Covid-19 situation in both islands is stable.
