Plane Collides With Car While Crash-Landing On Florida Highway
According to the New York Post, a “fixed-wing multi-engine aircraft” crashed into a 2023 Toyota Camry that was driving in the southbound lane of I-95 in Cocoa, Florida. This, reportedly, occurred around 5:45 p.m. on Monday, December 8. Furthermore, a dashcam caught the moment the plane collided with the car. The outlet reports that the pilot was attempting to make an emergency landing when the crash ensued.
Specifically, footage shows the plane rear-ending the Camry and bouncing on top of it before crashing down on its left side.
“I thought it might maybe aim around and not hit the car, but bam, the wheel just smacked right dab on the back of the car,” Peter Coffey, who captured the dashcam footage alongside his dad, told the press.

Was Anyone Hurt When The Plane Collided With The Car While Crash-Landing On Florida Highway
Per the outlet, the Florida Highway Patrol reported that a 57-year-old woman was driving the Camry at the time of the crash. Furthermore, she was taken to the hospital. However, she only sustained minor injuries. Additionally, the pilot, reportedly a 27-year-old male, along with his 27-year-old passenger, reportedly were not injured.
The New York Post adds that both men remained on the scene. However, they have not been publicly identified.
Furthermore, the outlet adds that the trunk of the car was left “crumpled” while the plane appeared to “have had its nose and wheel torn off.” The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is now investigating the incident. Fox News reports that the administration informed the outlet that the plane reported “engine trouble” ahead of the crash landing.
Earlier This Year, A Plane Crashed Into A Retirement Community
The shocking crash-landing on the Florida highway occurred months after a crash-landing impacted a retirement community in Pennsylvania. As The Shade Room previously reported, in March, a plane collided with a retirement community in Lancaster. Footage captured the aftermath of the crash, which showed buildings and surrounding cars left ablaze. Furthermore, multiple passengers were treated for burns, while no one on the ground suffered injuries.
