Police arrest four suspects for robbing students in Nasarawa; recover 35 phones, laptops, cash

Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command have arrested four armed robbery suspects for attacking and robbing students. 

 

 

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, May 27, 2024, said the suspected robbers attacked some students’ lodges and a hostel in the Gunki area of Nasarawa where they injured two students of the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa and cart away cell phones and other items.

 

 

The PPRO said the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Nasarawa Division led by CSP Mohammed Padah, on Sunday, May 26, following a distress call.

 

“Responding, Police operatives swiftly raced to the scene and rushed the injured victims to General Hospital, Nasarawa, while the criminals were given a hot chase,” the statement read.

 

“Consequently, four (4) suspects were arrested namely: Usman Abdullahi ‘M’ of Sabon Layi Keffi, Abdullahi Mohammed, and Ibrahim Musa both males of Angwan Tiv Masaka and Fa’ad Idris of Jahun area of Bauchi State.

 

“One blood stained Knife, one jack Knife, scissors, 8 Apple iPhones, 27 Assorted Android phones of different brands, 2 Laptops, 5 torch lights, 2 MP3 music players, 4 bags, 6 power banks and a cash sum of Two hundred and ninety-eight thousand Naira (N298,000) were recovered from the suspects as exhibits.”

 

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada commended the Divisional Police officer and his men for their pragmatic display of gallantry and professional dexterity.
