President of Serbia Believes a “Great World Conflict” Will Take Place Within Two Months

- Advertisment -

Aleksandar Vucic, the President of Serbia, issued a dire warning for the entire world.

He believes that in the next two months the world could be entering a “great world conflict.”

On the first day of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York, Vucic made these shocking remarks.

“You see a crisis in every part of the world,” Vucic said to Serbian state broadcaster RTS.

“I think realistic predictions ought to be even darker,” he continued. “Our position is even worse, since the UN has been weakened and the great powers have taken over and practically destroyed the UN order over the past several decades.”

The Serbian leader believes the Russo-Ukrainian conflict is entering a more violent phase now that Russia has called for a partial mobilization of its military forces.

“I assume that we’re leaving the phase of the special military operation and approaching a major armed conflict, and now the question becomes where is the line, and whether after a certain time – maybe a month or two, even – we will enter a great world conflict not seen since the Second World War,” he declared.

During a speech addressed to the Russian nation, Putin said he was not bluffing about using nuclear weapons to defend Russia in the case its sovereignty is violated by NATO or other external actors.

“Now they (the West) are talking about nuclear blackmail,” stated Putin.

“The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant was shelled and also some high positions – representatives of NATO states – who are saying there might be possibility and permissibility to use nuclear weapons against Russia,” Putin continued.

Putin declared that Western powers should “be reminded that our country also has various weapons of destruction, and with regard to certain components they’re even more modern than NATO ones.”

Those are the stakes of trying to escalate with Russia. For Russia, Ukraine is in its historical sphere of influence. Russia either wants Ukraine to be neutral or under its suzerainty. It would not tolerate the US or any Western power to establish a foothold in Ukraine. Just like the US has a Monroe Doctrine where it wants no external actors establishing a military presence in the Western Hemisphere, Russia will exercise similar preferences in large portions of the former Soviet Union and Russian Empire.

Can Western leaders show some degree of strategic empathy in this case?  If recent history has taught us anything, it’s unlikely that will happen. This will only increase the chances for further escalation — a lose-lose situation for everyone involved.
