President Donald Trump reviewed the security footage Tuesday afternoon, the White House revealed

President Donald Trump reviewed the new security footage released by the FBI from Nancy Guthrie’s home Tuesday afternoon, according to the White House.

Leavitt delayed the beginning of the White House press briefing, apologizing for the delay which she attributed it to the sudden development in the case.

Leavitt said she was with the president as they reviewed the new evidence in the case which she described as ‘heartbreaking.’

‘The president encourages any American across the country with any knowledge of the suspect to please call the FBI who continue to assist state and local authorities who are leading this investigation on the ground,’ she added.

The shocking footage revealed a masked figure with a latex glove tampering with a security camera at the home.

Leavitt said President Trump reacted to the footage with ‘pure disgust.’

‘It’s heartbreaking to see now this footage really bring to life a story we’ve all been reading about and again we’re just praying for the safety of Nancy Guthrie and that she will return home soon,’ Leavitt said.

The release of the footage was a major development in the case, after ten days of law enforcement hunting for the mother of NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie since she was first reported missing.

‘I don’t think anybody will be satisfied until this case is brought to a close and Nancy Guthrie is returned home safely with her loved ones,’ Leavitt told the Daily Mail when asked if the president was satisfied with the investigation.

Investigators indicated their belief that Guthrie was taken from her home against her will in a possible kidnapping or abduction. Reports of ransom notes have only escalated alarm about her safety.

Leavitt said that President Trump had not contacted Guthrie since his phone call with the anchor on February 4, but reiterated that they were following the case closely.

After that call, the president directed that all federal law enforcement be at the family’s disposal for the search.

‘We are deploying all resources to get her mother home safely. The prayers of our Nation are with her and her family. GOD BLESS AND PROTECT NANCY!’ he wrote on social media.

Guthrie was last seen entering her home in Tucson, Arizona, on the evening of January 31 after having dinner with her daughter, Annie, and son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni.

The president indicated on Saturday that investigators were making progress on the case, discovering ‘very strong’ clues.

‘I think we could have some answers coming up fairly soon,’ he said, adding that it ‘could be definitive.’
