Aristocrat India Hicks has paid tribute to her adopted son’s start mom, who handed away in 2010 away after dropping her battle with most cancers.

India, 51, who was a bridesmaid at Prince Charles’ wedding ceremony to Diana, adopted Bahamian son Wesley, 25, on the age of 12 following the loss of life of his mom Lynne.

India, who has lived within the Bahamas with husband David Flint Wooden since 1996, first met Lynne whereas she was a working as a waitress at a neighborhood restaurant and the pair grew to become mates. 

Lynne, a single mom, raised Wesley and her different youngsters on a low waitressing wage, and misplaced each her youthful and older sister to breast most cancers, earlier than she too handed away from the illness.

Sharing a snap of the household supporting Wesley as they paid tribute to his late mom, India wrote: ‘Each Christmas Day we go and see Wesley’s Mum. I do not suppose it ever will get simpler for Wes. How might it?’

She added: ‘Nevertheless it’s a stark, stark reminder to ensure a mammogram occurs in 2022.’ 

India, who was born in Lambeth, London, however moved to the Caribbean 23 years in the past with long run accomplice David Flint Wooden in 1996, lives in a sprawling white-washed villa – which boasts a pool and sea views – with the 5 youngsters. 

India first befriended Lynne throughout being pregnant, and when the kids have been born, India provided to assist take care of each of them.

In 2008, Wesley’s mom moved the household some 50 miles away from Harbour Island over the water to Nassau. 

It meant India didn’t see a lot of him till 2010 when, by likelihood, she discovered herself sitting beside him on a tiny inter-island aircraft. His mom was sick and he was shuttled between members of the family – two days later, Lynne died.

India took Wesley in and infrequently shares joyful household footage of the entire household having fun with time collectively.

India is the granddaughter of Earl Mountbatten of Burma, the final Viceroy of India who was killed in 1979 by an IRA bomb.

Her mom, Woman Pamela Hicks, 88, served as a bridesmaid on the then-Princess Elizabeth’s wedding ceremony to Prince Philip, after which as her lady-in-waiting.
