Sofia Vergara tried and failed to crack a walnut with her buttocks on the season premiere of America’s Got Talent on Tuesday and declared: ‘It really hurts!’

She was emulating one of the contestants – a Mr. Cherry from Japan who broke a world record by crushing 79 walnuts with his behind in just 30 seconds.

However there were 80 walnuts laid out on the stage so it was up to Sofia, 48, to try and break the remaining one with her own rear end.

Sofia sauntered onto the stage balancing expertly on her sky-high stilettos and looked at the walnut with a bit of alarm.

Her fellow judge Heidi Klum asked her from the table: ‘Which side is your strong butt?’ to which Sofia replied: ‘I don’t know, I’ve never thought about that.’

The Modern Family star tried to slam her derriere down on the walnut to break it but when she looked back down at the nut it was completely intact.

Sofia found herself laughing and grimacing while massaging her buttocks and telling her fellow judges: ‘It really hurts!’

He instead splatted down onto the stage ripping the butt off his costume. His wardrobe malfunction was digitally covered up by the NBC Peacock sign as he continued to flounce around the stage.

Heidi said it was a ‘hot mess’ and Sethward responded ‘but a good time?’.
