The following contains spoilers for Moon Knight: Black, White and Blood #1, on sale now from Marvel Comics.
Spider-Man/Peter Parker is getting ready for the X-Men’s annual Hellfire Gala event, and he’s got some new clothes he’ll be showing off thanks to Moon Knight.
Moon Knight: Black, White and Blood is a new anthology series from Marvel offering fans stand-alone stories starring the Fist of Khonshu. Included in Moon Knight: Black, White and Blood #1 is a story — “So White. Yet, So Dark” by Murewa Ayodele and Dotun Akande — where Marc Spencer/Moon Knight teams up with Spider-Man/Peter Parker.
Peter initially comes to Moon Knight asking for a favor, which Moon Knight only agrees to after Spider-Man says he’ll help him on a mission to stop some bad guys who are transporting a crimson scarab to an unknown location. The team-up goes relatively smoothly, with the two of them retrieving the scarab without any serious mishaps. Following the completion of the mission, Spider-Man opens a box gifted to him with Mr. Knight’s white suit jacket to wear at the Hellfire Gala. “It’s so white,” Peter comments. “Yet, so dark.”
Moon Knight and Spider-Man go their separate ways, but Moon Knight is then visited by another superhero. Deadpool shows up saying that he, too, wants to borrow a suit, but Spencer hits the request with a hard and firm “No!”
Spider-Man and a number of other Marvel heroes will make their way to the mutant island of Krakoa for the X-Men’s second annual event in X-Men: Hellfire Gala #1, which releases July 13 from Marvel. The synopsis for the one-shot reads, “At last year’s Hellfire Gala, fans were mesmerized by jaw-dropping fashion moments from Emma Frost’s dazzling trio of Dauterman-designed pieces to Colossus’ unforgettable look by artist Lucas Werneck,” Marvel said of X-Men: Hellfire Gala #1. “This year will be no different – only this time around, mutants won’t be the only ones making fashion statements! The Hellfire Gala will be a night packed with repercussions for the entire Marvel Universe, and heroes from every corner will be in attendance.”
Moon Knight: Black, White and Blood #1 features two additional stories, “Anubis Rex” and “The End,” by Jonathan Hickman, Chris Bachalo, Marc Guggenheim and Jorge Fornés. The issue is lettered by VC’s Cory Petit, with cover art by Bill Sienkiewicz and variant cover art by Bachalo, Jeff Dekal, Stan Sakai and Emi Fujii. The issue is on sale now from Marvel.
