Stephen A. Smith Alerts Americans of 'Extremely Progressive Agenda,' Calls out Gavin Newsom After Visit to LA – RedState

Arguably the face of ESPN, Stephen A. Smith, appeared on “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Fox News to discuss crime, Vice President Kamala Harris, and his new podcast “Know Mercy With Stephen A. Smith,” which will cover culture and politics.

You can listen to Smith’s interview with the President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Dana White, on his new podcast here. His guests will include NewsNation anchor Chris Cuomo on Wednesday and Fox News anchor Sean Hannity on Friday. It should be an interesting podcast.

During the segment with Fox News host Jesse Watters, Smith warned Americans of an “extremely progressive agenda” in the midst of a crime wave in blue cities with radical DA’s across the country.

“There is no question that a lot of these issues need to be addressed. There is no question that we should be against an extremely progressive agenda that’s calling for people to be released from prison on multiple occasions. That’s ignoring a lot of crime that’s taking place in the streets.”

Smith calls himself a moderate and tells Watters that he is not a Republican or a conservative. But since he is criticizing the “progressives” and far-left politicians, the Los Angeles Times might criticize him, as they did to former California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder, calling him the “black face of white supremacy.”

Smith continued, saying that he would not want his family to travel on the New York subway.

“I wouldn’t want my family traveling on the New York subway. The New York subway system … you are damn right I got a problem with that.”

The New York subway has been a disaster, yet local politicians don’t seem to care.

Smith concluded by slamming incompetent California Governor Gavin Newsom, saying Newsom’s lack of effectiveness when speaking about the homeless crisis in the city of Los Angeles:

“I was in LA [last week] and saw the homelessness that existed. I got an issue with that. Certainly, when you look at Gavin Newsom and some of the policies that he’s put forth .. you’re talking about a lot of different things that need to be addressed.”

They later switched gears, speaking about Harris, and that’s where Smith disagreed with Watters.

“Believe it or not, I think that she’s a highly intelligent woman [who] unfortunately doesn’t have an opportunity to showcase it.”

Here is the full interview:

In 2015, Smith went on CNN and said all black people should vote Republican for at least one election:

What I dream is that for one election, just one, every black person in America vote Republican … Black folks in America are telling one party, ‘We don’t give a damn about you.’ They’re telling the other party, ‘You’ve got our vote.’ Therefore, you have labeled yourself ‘disenfranchised’ because one party knows they’ve got you under their thumb. The other party knows they’ll never get you and nobody comes to address your interest.

Smith is a moderate who speaks his mind and does not care what others think.
