Tense moment Anthony Albanese is forced to leave mosque after being branded 'genocide supporter' as chants of 'Allahu Akbar' ring out

Anthony Albanese and Tony Burke have been heckled in Lakemba Mosque when protestors began yelling ‘Genocide supporters’ and ‘Allah Akbar’.

Heckling erupted about 7.30am as the two attended Eid prayers at the mosque with the Lebanese Muslim Association marking the end of Ramadan.

As they sat on the ground without shoes among worshippers, the PM Burke watched the protest unfold before being led from the prayer hall a short time later.

Angry crowds yelled ‘get them out of here’, ‘shame’ and ‘disgrace’.
