Five teenagers have been arrested following a violent 24-hour crime spree.

Queensland Police arrested the teens, aged between 16 and 19, were arrested at properties in south Brisbane and the Gold Coast on Wednesday.

They are accused of breaking into multiple homes and driving a stolen white 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The car was stolen sometime between 10pm on Sunday and 2am on Monday from a home on Banzai Street in Kingscliff, about 47km south of the Gold Coast.

After the car was allegedly stolen, an unknown number of people allegedly forced open the front door of a home on Skyview Avenue in Rochedale, south Brisbane.

It’s alleged the group threatened a woman inside the home with a knife at about 5.15am. 

One of the intruders allegedly struck the woman’s phone from her hand, injuring her finger, and demanded cash.

The group briefly searched the home but left in a white SUV without taking anything.

A little over five hours later at 10.28am, four people allegedly broke into a home on Red Cedar Crescent in Calamvale, south Brisbane, and stole a Mercedes Benz.

A woman inside the home was injured when she attempted to stop the vehicle from being taken.

Then about 2.40am on Tuesday, a group allegedly broke into another home on Redbud Lane in Robina, south Gold Coast.

It’s alleged the group tried to steal a white 2012 Mercedes Benz GLC300 but crashed the vehicle whilst reversing from the property.

The owner went to confront the group and was allegedly assaulted, suffering minor injuries that did not require treatment.

The alleged attempted thieves fled the scene in a Jeep Cherokee. 

The teenagers – aged 17, 18, 19 and two 16-year-olds – were arrested across the South Brisbane and Gold Coast Districts on Wednesday.

‘Investigations are ongoing into further incidents in both the South Brisbane and Gold Coast Districts that are possibly linked to the group,’ Queensland Police said in a statement.
