Warner Bros. Pictures has once again tweaked the logo for its upcoming DC Universe film The Flash.
The latest variant of The Flash‘s logo has been made the profile picture and banner image for the film’s official Twitter account. The initial version of the film’s logo that was unveiled back in 2021 featured the film’s title in black against a gold and silver Flash symbol. An updated version of the logo released earlier this year kept the color scheme for the symbol, but changed the title’s text to a deep red. This latest version once again plays with the colors, changing the Flash symbol to gold and black, and making the title text a much brighter shade of red. More accurately, the word “Flash” is now a brighter shade of red, while the word “The” now uses the same gold color as the lightning bolt.
Despite a years-long development process, several rewrites and multiple controversies involving its lead actor, The Flash is still on track to premiere in theaters on June 23, 2023. The Flash wrapped production in October 2018, and has reportedly been playing rather well with test audiences. Set within the newly-christened DCU, the Andy Muschietti-directed comic book film stars Ezra Miller, who reprises their role as Barry Allen/the Flash from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, both versions of Justice League, Arrow and Peacemaker.
The Flash Races Into Theaters Next Year
In addition to Miller, The Flash features a number of other returning DCU stars, including Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Meanwhile, Ron Livingston takes over the role of Henry Allen, previously played in both versions of Justice League by Billy Crudup. Other newcomers include Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen and Sasha Calle as Supergirl.
Of course, Affleck’s Batman won’t be the only version of the Dark Knight featured in the film. Batman and Batman Returns star Michael Keaton is also slated to reprise his own version of the character, having last donned the cowl 30 years ago. Keaton was also expected to portray his version of Batman in the DCU-set HBO Max film Batgirl, though the project was unceremoniously axed amid cost-cutting at the recently-merged Warner Bros. Discovery.
The Flash speeds into theaters on June 23, 2023.
