It was the statement that triggered fan pandemonium and production panic.
Yesterday, just three months after bravely stepping away from her tumultuous years long marriage, Bravo darling Amanda Batula announced that she was in a new relationship.
Her new partner?
Her best friend’s ex, husband’s ‘bro’ and fellow Summer House castmate, West Wilson.
Their ‘connection’, as she put it, has sent shockwaves through the realms of reality TV.
And now, the Daily Mail can reveal the behind-the-scenes fallout is even worse than imagined.
Dubbed ‘Scamanda’, the scandal has triggering hallmarks of the infamous Vanderpump Rules affair that broke the internet… but without the cheating.
‘This is Scandoval all over again for the network… nobody saw this coming,’ a source close to production on the series told the Daily Mail, referencing Vanderpump Rule’s stars Tom Sandoval’s secret cheating on Ariana Madix with Raquel Leviss.

Indeed, Madix rode the wave of betrayal to a very lucrative shore.
After her humiliating break-up, she was cast in Dancing With the Stars, received countless social media deals, and was crowned the host of Love Island USA.
Batula, who has bemoaned her lack of career satisfaction for years on the show, had a chance to cash in on her marriage rupture.
But within hours of her romance with West becoming public, she was unceremoniously dumped by clothing brand Flower by Edie Parker.
Batula and Wilson attempted to get ahead of the backlash with a joint Instagram statement on Tuesday, writing: ‘We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity.
‘It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.’
The pair continued: ‘We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected.

‘Our connection grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.
‘As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling.
‘We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless.’
It concluded: ‘We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this.’
Not everyone is buying that explanation.
‘They were hiding it,’ the second source insisted to Daily Mail.
Eagle-eyed fans have been slowly piecing the romance together for weeks.
There were several social media clues, like a March 2026 photo of Batula wearing one of Wilson’s hoodies, and zoomed-in analysis of their flirty on-camera exchanges in the current season of Summer House.
They are resoundingly shocked that Batula would go for her best friend’s former squeeze.
But other insiders tell us the situation may not be as ‘unexpected’ as Batula claims.
‘Amanda was the girl who hooked up with other people’s boyfriends in high school,’ a third source close to Batula alleged.
‘It was years ago of course, but she did it, so that makes this situation not as shocking for people who knew her back then. She’s done this before.’

Meanwhile, a fourth source close to the show say the fallout within the cast has been immediate.

However, the insider added they were ‘pretty sure, but not 100 percent certain that Miller had a head’s up that the statement was coming.’
Cooke, for his part, is said to be reeling.
A fifth source told Daily Mail he felt ‘very betrayed,’ not only because of his estranged wife, but because Wilson was also considered one of his ‘bros’.
He is reportedly leaning on friends and family and has no plans to address the situation publicly just yet.
The source added Cooke only found out a day or two ago, though it remains unclear who told him – or whether he has confronted either Batula or Wilson.
A separate sixth source told Daily Mail that ‘Amanda and Kyle split quietly months before they announced it, so Kyle is a bit more removed emotionally than people think.’
According to TMZ, Cooke had previously questioned both Batula and Wilson about the rumors – which they denied.
