Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey will also reprise their roles from the live-action series as Yennefer of Vengerberg and Jaskier, respectively. Newcomer Christina Wren will voice new characer Essi Daven. The movie is written by The Witcher series writers Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin, and it’s directed by The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf storyboard artist Kang Hei Chul.
There have been several other spinoffs to The Witcher developed due to the show’s popularity. That includes 2021’s The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, the previous anime movie that served as an origin story for Vesemir. It’s also been reported that there are plans to develop a separate family-friendly animated series. Michelle Yeoh had also starred in the live-action miniseries The Witcher: Blood Origin, which served as a prequel to the main series, set 1,200 years before the events of The Witcher. Dolph Lundgren is also reportedly set to star in another live-action spinoff.

The Witcher Moves Forward With a New Geralt
Meanwhile, Henry Cavill wrapped up his run as Geralt of Rivia after the third season of the main series. It had previously been announced that Netflix was still moving forward with Season 4 with Liam Hemsworth taking over the role, with the casting change first announced in October 2022. . While there has been some concern with fans about switching over to a new actor after three seasons, the show’s executive producers have promised that the transition will be “flawless” and that there’s even a “lore accurate” way they will be able to explain the casting change in the series.
“I don’t want to get too emotional, but it was a great journey to have Henry Cavill on this show and we will miss him,” EP Tomek Baginski told Yahoo UK. “But, at the same time, we have a very, very good plan to introduce our new Geralt and our new vision for Geralt with Liam. It’s very lore accurate. It’s very close to what was set out in the books and I think this change will be quite flawless… It will be a new Geralt, it will be a new face for this character and I think it will also be very, very exciting to see.”
The Witcher Season 4 doesn’t yet have a premiere date set at Netflix.
