Legion of X 3

An official preview for Marvel’s Legion of X #3 sees a certain mystical Avenger pay a visit to the mutant nation of Krakoa.

It’s not every day the Master of the Mystic Arts steps foot on the sentient mutant nation of Krakoa — but that’s exactly what happens in the next issue of Marvel’s X-Men spinoff series Legion of X.

Marvel Comics has released an official preview for Legion of X #3, which comes from writer Simon “Si” Spurrier, artist Jan Bazaldua, colorist Federico Blee and letterer Clayton Cowles. The issue features cover art drawn by Dike Ruan and colored by Matthew Wilson. Set to hit comic shops on Wednesday, July 6, Legion of X #3 sees none other than Doctor Strange arrive on Krakoa in order to help Pixie and the Juggernaut lure out the Skinjacker.

LEGION OF X #3

  • TO BE MAD IS TO BE DIVINE!
  • An Arakkii fugitive god is lurking somewhere in the shadows of Krakoa, and Weaponless Zsen must track them down or face destruction at the hands of the terrifying Ora Serrata. After hitting a number of dead ends, Zsen and Nightcrawler turn to the astral plane for answers. Meanwhile, Pixie lures the Skinjacker out of hiding with the help of Juggernaut and…Dr. Strange?!
  • 28 PGS./Rated T+ …$3.99

However, while the former Sorcerer Supreme is joining Krakoa’s resident police force on business, word evidently got around that an Avenger would be making an appearance, resulting in a sizable crowd gathering to welcome him to the island. Elsewhere in the issue, a weaponless Zsen and Nightcrawler “turn to the astral plane” for answers pertaining to the Arakkii god that is hiding out on Krakoa.

It’s not exactly surprising that Krakoa’s Legionnaires would seek outside help in their pursuit of the Skinjacker. “[The Skinjacker] can leap into your body and live your life for a day,” Spurrier told CBR back in February. “They can talk to your friends and get up to all sorts of mischief while they’re borrowing your skin. That’s horrifying. It’s a real violation of identity, freedom, personality, and all of the things that we sort of take for granted in the western world. And yet, they’re not breaking any of Krakoa’s three laws: Make more mutants, Kill no man, and Respect the sacred land. What do you do?”
