Tottenham have reportedly turned their attentions to Nuno Espirito Santo as they continue to search for a new manager.

Spurs have seen talks with Antonio Conte and Paulo Fonseca break down in recent weeks while a move for Gennaro Gattuso was briefly considered before being abandoned.

With Daniel Levy still on the hunt for Jose Mourinho’s replacement, talkSPORT claim Nuno is now their main target with new sporting director Fabio Paratici favouring a move for the former Wolves boss.

Paratici had been leading the talks with Fonseca until a deal for the for the ex-Roma manager collapsed last week.

Fonseca had verbally agreed to join Tottenham and had discussed his plans for the squad and the makeup of his coaching staff.

But Spurs walked away from the deal, insisting financial issues were not behind their change of heart and it was simply a call to go in a different direction made by the club’s hierarchy.
