Transformers: Legacy Autobots Stand United

A new collection of Transformers figures is on its way to fans.

As reported by Seibertron, the Transformers Legacy Generations Selects Autobots Stand United 5-Pack includes a quintet of fan-favorite Autobots from the original Generation 1. Decked out in cartoon-accurate color schemes, these figures are redecos of pre-existing toys that hail from different sublines. Likewise, one of them is the first official release of a Transformers figure that fans feared was canceled.

Transformers Legacy Hound is Released

The “Autobots Stand United” 5-Pack includes Jazz, Trailbreaker, Hound, Sunstreaker and the Autobot inventor, Wheeljack, all in color schemes that accurately recreate their appearances in the classic 1984 cartoon The Transformers. In the case of Sunstreaker, Wheeljack and Trailbreaker, these figures (in their initial color schemes) were part of the Transformers: War for Cybertron: Earthrise line that was released in 2020. The Jazz figure is a redeco of the version of Jazz in the Transformers Studio Series SS86 line, which was an approximation of his appearance in the 1986 film The Transformers: The Movie. Likewise, the Hound figure is the first official release of the planned Transformers: Buzzworthy Bumblebee Hound figure. That toy was never released as intended, but the mold was used to create Transformers: Legacy Detritus.

Trailbreaker is an officially licensed Toyota 4WD Hi-Lux. The other Autobots, however, turn into unofficial versions of G1 alternate modes (Lamborghini Countach, Lancia Stratos, Jeep and Porsche 935 Turbo). The set is now being officially unveiled after it was previously rumored for product listings. Scheduled to start shipping in July, the set is $110 USD. This makes the collector’s set cheaper than buying each of the Deluxe Class figures separately.

Generations Selects Offers Fan-Oriented Redecos of Transformers

The Transformers Generations Selects Galvatron in robot mode.

Beginning in 2019 as a line of store or convention-exclusive figures, the Transformers Generations Selects line was a themed spinoff of the Transformers Generations series. That line was focused on releasing toys for classic characters, namely in an aesthetic similar to the original Generation 1 designs. The Generations Selects subline takes those same figures and re-releases them in specific color schemes. For instance, WFC-GS27 was a repaint of the Transformers: War for Cybertron: Kingdom Galvatron toy, albeit switching out the more movie-accurate colors for those emulating the gray and blue color scheme of the original G1 Galvatron toy.

Though Generations Selects still exists, the original Generations line has been supplanted by the current Transformers: Legacy line. These figures represent toys from not only Generation 1 but also Generation 2, Beast Wars, Transformers: Animated, Transformers: Prime and the Unicron Trilogy (namely Transformers: Armada). The line is rumored to soon have its own rebrand.
