Former President Donald Trump’s team is eying November 14 – the Monday after the midterm election – as the date he’ll announce his 2024 presidential bid.

Axios reported the date Friday, with sources telling the news site that the announcement would then be followed by a series of political events.

Trump came close to announcing a 2024 bid at a Thursday night rally in Iowa – which holds the nation’s first presidential contest – and on the anniversary of his 2020 election loss.

‘And now in order to make our country successful and safe and glorious – I will very, very, very probably do it again,’ he said. ‘OK? Very, very, very probably. Very, very, very probably.’

He told the riled up Sioux City crowd to ‘get ready!’ ‘That’s all I’m telling you, very soon,’ he added.

Former President Donald Trump announced his first bid for the Republican presidential nomination on June 16, 2015, sliding down the golden escalator at Trump Tower

The Iowa appearance was the first in a series of rallies in the run-up to the midterms.

Trump will also appear in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, a town outside of Pittsburgh, to stump for Republican Senate hopeful, Dr. Mehmet Oz, and GOP gubernatorial candidate, Doug Mastriano.

From there, he’ll go to Miami, Florida for an appearance alongside Republican Sen. Marco Rubio.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who frequently comes in second place when Republicans are asked who they’d like to see as their nominee in 2024, will not be in attendance.

On Monday night, Trump will travel to Ohio to give J.D. Vance a final boost in his U.S. Senate race against Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan.

Both Oz and Vance received Trump’s backing over more traditional Senate candidates this cycle.

Axios reported that Trump ‘plans to surf the GOP’s expected post-midterm euphoria’ to build excitement around his own attempt to retake the White House.

However, if Senate control isn’t yet determined – potentially due to a run-off race in Georgia between Republican Herschel Walker and Democratic incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock, Trump may hold off, Axios said.

Traditionally, presidential candidates don’t start announcing until the beginning of the year following the midterms.

In the 2020 cycle, Sen. Elizabeth Warren announced she was forming an exploratory committee on New Year’s Eve of 2018. She officially became a candidate in February 2019.

President Joe Biden held off and didn’t announce until late April 2019.

Trump famously announced his first quest for the Republican presidential nomination on June 16, 2015, riding down the golden escalator at Trump Tower, and paying actors to fill out the crowd.
