Trump booed by a Washington Commanders crowd on Sunday during an NFL game

Donald Trump has been falsely accused of committing a Joe Biden style blunder at an NFL appearance.

The commander-in-chief spoke at the Washington Commanders NFL game on Sunday to conduct a swearing in ceremony for members of the US military.

When Trump approached the microphone, however, the crowd at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland began drowning out the president with a chorus of boos.

At one point Trump began reading the following US Armed Forces Oath of Enlistment: ‘I, state your name, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.’

Liberal critics of Trump began to question whether the president committed a Biden-style blunder by repeating the line ‘I, state your name,’ instead of just stating his own name.

Democrat DC social media star Keith Edwards wrote on X, ‘Does he say “I [and state your name]”?’

Trump, however, was encouraging the soldiers at the ceremony to state their own names as part of their oath instructions. He was not mistakenly reading an instruction from his staff to state his own name.

During the prior administration, former President Joe Biden would often accidentally publicly recite instructions given to him by members of his staff during speeches.

In April 2024, Biden had an embarrassing moment when he read his teleprompters instructions during a speech at a trade union conference in Washington.

The awkward moment was delivered when Biden said, ‘Imagine what we could do next. Four more years, pause…Four more years.’

Standing alongside the president to his right was Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson.

Trump would later tell Fox broadcasters that it was an honor to swear in a ‘tremendous group of young people.’

The negative welcome Trump received from the NFL should come as not surprise given the Democratic voting tendency of the surrounding area.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris won over 90 percent of the votes in Washington, DC, along with more than 62 percent of votes in Maryland.

The accusations of a mental blunder from Trump’s liberal critics comes amid conspiracy theories regarding the president’s health.

Over the summer, Trump’s hand was visibly discolored with noticeable bruising. The White House claims the president, 79, had bruises from shaking too many hands.

Moreover, the White House has faced criticism after it was revealed Trump had a previously undisclosed MRI scan at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center during an October medical check-up.

The lack of transparency from the White House regarding the president’s health has sparked speculation and concern regarding Trump’s health.
