Trump divulges how Melania has changed since his first term

Donald Trump divulged to the Daily Mail that his wife has ‘stronger opinions’ than she did during his first term.

The President and First Lady on Thursday night flaunted the red carpet – which they turned black– for her Washington, DC premiere of Melania: Twenty Days to History.

As part of her press tour for the Amazon MGM Studios film, Melania Trump appeared on Fox News to promote the movie, and in the process was asked to weigh-in on current events, including the rising tensions between federal immigration enforcement and protesters in Minneapolis.

Melania made a rare political statement as she called for unity and for any protests to be ‘peaceful and without riots.’

Trump comments on Melania’s increased public profile

A reporter asked Trump on the black carpet at the Trump-Kennedy Center about her recent comments, to which he agreed she’d been more outspoken.

When the Daily Mail asked about this new trait, Trump insisted: ‘Well somebody asked me a question, I didn’t say it.’

‘She’s got stronger opinions now, probably,’ he went on. ‘She’s got experience, it comes with experience. She’s got stronger opinions.’

Trump gushed about his wife’s project, calling it her ‘baby’ and saying it’s a ‘beautiful’ film filled with ‘glamor.’

Asked if Melania tapped the President for his experience in television, Trump told the Daily Mail: ‘Other than the fact that I’m in it… I would say that basically, this was her baby. This was her views, it’s her feel, and she’s done a great job.’

The First Lady donned an all black Dolce & Gabbana skirt suit and black alligator leather Louboutin pumps, sticking on the all-black theme.

Most red carpet walkers, including members of the administration and other political figures, wore black.

And while the night was about the First Lady, Trump couldn’t help but interject himself as he went on to gloat about his White House ballroom project.

‘You know, I’m fixing the White House. I do that instinctively. I fix the White House. It’s in a much better shape than it ever was,’ Trump said ahead of the premiere. ‘That’s a different building right now than it was a year ago, right?’

‘Things are being repaired. I love doing it. I do it second nature. That’s why I was good at real estate.’

Documentary explores the transition from private citizen to First Lady

Amazon bought the rights for $40 million for the film following Melania Trump’s 20-day journey ahead of her husband’s second inauguration in January 2025.

She told the Daily Mail that she wanted to focus the movie on those 20 days because ‘it was my life.’

‘People will see it transitioning from private citizen to being the First Lady again,’ she detailed.

‘The schedule was very intense, they followed me from morning until evening. And you will see what I have to do and what I did from planning the inauguration, to running my business… taking care of the family, moving to the White House, meeting with security detail, establishing the East Wing and hiring the people that need to work for me – but also they work for the American people.’

While the First Lady is a very private person, she was compelled to answer questions about daily news during her press tour for the movie this month.

‘I’m against the violence, so please, if you protest, protest in peace,’ she told Fox & Friends on Tuesday when asked about the clashes between ICE and protesters in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Melania, an immigrant from Slovenia, said the President had a ‘great call’ with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, both Democrats, on Monday.

‘I know my husband, the President, had a great call yesterday with the governor and the mayor, and they’re working together to make it peaceful and without riots,’ Melania confirmed.

‘We need to unify in these times,’ she continued.

Melania Trump makes rare political statement after shootings in Minnesota

First Lady Melania Trump made a rather rare political statement on Tuesday calling for ‘unity’ amid weeks of unrest in Minnesota.

‘I’m against the violence, so please, if you protest, protest in peace,’ she told Fox & Friends on Tuesday morning.

Melania, an immigrant from Slovenia, rarely makes public statements, especially as it related to political issues or her husband’s job.

But during television appearance promoting her upcoming movie, the first lady affirmed the ‘great call’ President Donald Trump had with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, both Democrats, on Monday.

‘They’re working together to make it peaceful and without riots,’ she insisted.

Melania’s decision to comment on the riots and clashes with immigration enforcement agents highlights the severity and the division the issue has created in the US, especially as nationwide protests have erupted following the fatal shooting of ICU nurse Alex Pretti by federal immigration agents.

On Saturday, eight agents surrounded and took down VA nurse Alex Pretti who was on the streets during an ICE protest.

Video showed that after Pretti was disarmed of his handgun, which was holstered on his belt, he was shot multiple times by at least one of the agents. He died on scene.

This incident has since sparked vigils, demonstrations, and heated debate across the country about the use of force by federal officers during civil protests.
