Trump Finally Reveals His Thoughts on the Sydney Sweeney Controversy As Only He Can – RedState

President Donald Trump was asked to weigh in on the Sydney Sweeney “great jeans” American Eagle ad controversy. He delivered a reply that demonstrated humor and exposed it for the silliness it deserves.

It’d be challenging to imagine readers are unaware of what happened here, but a quick recap, if you will: Sweeney, who is a bombshell by most measures, dared to star in a commercial wearing form-fitting pants, a loosely buttoned shirt, and looking good while talking about her “great jeans.”

As a result, the left went apoplectic, suggesting it was a coded message of “white supremacy” and a thinly-veiled attempt at “eugenics propaganda.”

Because that’s what the left does. They’re weird. They can’t stand the thought of beautiful women. And they’re relentlessly insufferable people.

Trump, fielding questions from reporters before flying back to Washington, D.C., Sunday evening, was informed that Sweeney has been revealed to be a “registered Republican.” He was asked for his thoughts.

“She’s a registered Republican?” he quipped. “Oh, now I love her ad!”

“You’d be surprised at how many people are Republicans,” Trump added. “That’s one I wouldn’t have known, but I’m glad you told me that.”

“If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic!”

Florida voter records show that Sweeney registered as a Republican in Monroe County in June 2024. But think about it, the leftist outrage had already kicked into high gear well before that fact was revealed.

The hatred was already there. Why would they hate Sweeney? Well, she’s everything they despise. Beautiful, and clearly knows it. But also a regular down-to-earth gal who restores her own vintage cars.

Beautiful and down to Earth? That doesn’t compute with liberals. Had Lizzo done the same ad, there would have been zero controversy, and she would have been celebrated as brave and stunning. Instead, Sweeney gets dragged through the mud.

Vice President JD Vance also had a clever response to the one-sided Sweeney controversy.

“My political advice to the Democrats is to continue to tell everybody who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive [they are] a Nazi — that appears to be their actual strategy,” Vance said in an appearance on the “Ruthless” Variety Progrum.

“It actually reveals something interesting about the Dems, though, which is that you have a normal, all-American, beautiful girl doing a normal jeans ad to sell jeans to kids in America [and] they have managed to so unhinge themselves over this thing.”

Perhaps the best response to the utter nonsense came from American Eagle themselves, who essentially told those outraged they can pretty much pound sand.

“‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans’ is and always was about the jeans,” the company said in a statement. “Her jeans. Her story.”

“We’ll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone.”
