Donald Trump has launched a furious attack on ‘agitators, insurrectionists and troublemakers’ in Minnesota amid widespread protests in the Democratic state.
The president gave a press conference at the White House on Tuesday as it emerged that the Department of Justice has subpoenaed the offices of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and state Attorney General Keith Ellis.
The subpoenas come as Trump urged law enforcement to investigate the Democratic politicians in Minnesota, which has been gripped by protests after an ICE agent shot dead a woman on January 7.
‘How can you have a place with 10,000 criminals, how can you have a state?’ Trump told reporters at the White House on Tuesday.
