President Donald Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at Mar-a-Lago on Sunday in a push to end the war between Ukraine and Russia.
Trump had posted earlier about a conversation he had with Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling it a “good and productive” call.

Trump had some positive words about the progress as he took some questions from reporters.

“I do believe that we have the makings of a deal,” Trump told reporters as he stood beside Zelenskyy, adding that he believes the process can “move very rapidly.”
Trump said he didn’t have a “deadline” — that his deadline was getting the war ended.

Trump was in vintage form, and he wasn’t going for any media nonsense. He snapped at one of the reporters who asked about what would be in the security agreement. “What a dumb question!” he said. “No one knows what’s in the security agreement.” But he did say the ultimate agreement would have a good security guarantee.
He described the talks as in their “final stages.” It sounded like he was giving them a warning: Get it done, or if you don’t, the option isn’t good.
“I think we’re in the final stages of talking, and we’re going to see,” Trump said. “Otherwise, it’s going to go on for a long time. It’ll either end, or it’s going to go on for a long time and millions of additional people are going to be killed.”
Then they sat down inside with other negotiators, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
But before he tossed the press out, Trump graciously offered them lunch and joked, “Would you like food? Or do you consider that a bribe? And therefore, you can’t write honestly? Or write a bad story? You can speak.”

But he wasn’t kidding. When they responded yes, he directed his staff to get them lunch.
They got sliced steak, pigs in a blanket, coconut shrimp, fries, and chocolate chip cookies.

Oh, and water with the Trump label on it. He does enjoy trolling the media.

So now we’ll have to see what comes out of the meeting. Trump certainly is going all in, meeting even over the Christmas holiday. They’re addressing the press after the meeting as well, so we’ll keep you informed.
