An unmanageable passenger stormed the cab of an American Airlines airliner at an airport in Honduras, damaged the plane as it was boarding for a flight to Las vegas and attempted to climb out from the front window before becoming arrested.

The airline claimed in a statement on Wednesday that crew members intervened and the man, identified from the local news outlet LaPrensa.hn as Aaron Christopher Ebanks Fuentes, was arrested by simply local authorities. There were no information of injury.

Flight 488 was boarding at Ramon Villeda Morales International Airport inside San Pedro Sula in Tuesday afternoon when the believe ran into the open cab, damaged flight controls and even attempted to jump out of an accesible window as pilots attempted to stop him, according to the air carrier.

The man had become distressed after being asked by simply crew members where he might be storing his luggage, witnesses told LaPresna.

Cellphone online video recorded on the tarmac and later it was shared on Twitter demonstrates Fuentes, dressed in a black-and-white hooded sweatshirt and a hockey cap, leaning out the cab window.

Fuentes was later photographed soaking in a wheelchair with his boots and shoes off. LaPrensa reported that they was taken to a police force station in La Fresa to await charges. 

‘We applaud our exceptional crew members for their professionalism and trust in handling a difficult circumstance,’ American Airlines claimed in its statement.

The broken aircraft, a Boeing 737-800 carrying 121 passengers and even six crew members, had been grounded at the airport.

The flight was at first scheduled to depart right before 3pm local time, nonetheless because of the damage inflicted from the passenger, a replacement plane needed to be sent to Honduras, causing a eight-hour delay. 

The new plane did not remove until 11pm, landing inside Miami just before 2am community time.
