TOP O’ THE MORNIN’

Red-Hot at RedState

Hegseth Hatred Leaves Democrat Politicians and Media With Egg on Their Faces As Well As Steak and Lobster

The minions of the left are after Hegseth because he not only has stopped their “long march through the institutions” at the Pentagon, he is actively uprooting what they planted and sowing salt into the earth. But if this is the best they can do, he has nothing to worry about.

President Trump Issues Chilling Warning to ‘Deranged Scumbags’ in Iran Today, Says US Winning the War

While none of these have been confirmed, Trump’s assessment that he is “damaged” but “probably alive” suggests he knows something. And when the President knows something, the “deranged scumbags” might want to scatter.

THE ESSEX FILES: Iran’s Lionesses Show Why Tehran Fears Its Own Women

The lesson from Australia is simple: When Iranian women have even a small chance to step outside the control of the regime and its modesty enforcers, many take it. The response should not be to urge “dialogue” with the same authorities they are running from. It should be to stand clearly with the women who have already voted with their feet and to treat their courage as more than a news clip from a distant conflict.

Trending Across Townhall Media

Bearing Arms — Cornell Student Facing Felony Charges and ‘Red Flag’ Order After Rifle Purchase

At the very least, this story just got a heck of a lot more complicated than it was based on the initial statements by police and prosecutors.

HotAir — Trump Tells G7 You’re Welcome, and Someone’s Missing While Tehran Rocks

The message is clear: Mojtaba is either dead or incapacitated. Either status suits the IRGC, which can then claim to act in his name no matter what they do, and that effectively sidelines the rest of the mullahs.

PJ Media — Judgement of ‘Nuremberg’ and Russell Crowe as Herman Göring

2025’s Nuremberg dumbs down the conclusion of the darkest years of the 20th century into what the kids these days call “second screen” friendly material. 1961’s Judgement at Nuremberg, made by grownups for grownups (who were only a decade and a half away from WWII’s end) and to be shown in cinemas on the biggest of big screens, does not.

Townhall — Huh? Dems Are Going to Try and Hurt Trump Over This?

So, please spare us and stop acting like things would be better with you people in charge. You’d allow Tehran to get a nuclear weapon. They would have it by now if Democrats were still in the Oval.

Twitchy — Now We KNOW What Rashida Tlaib Was Trying to Get in Front of With Her Fake Prayers for MI Synagogue

Our guess is she doesn’t want to be held accountable for the poisonous, hateful, and yes, dangerous rhetoric she constantly feeds her followers; rhetoric some crazy guy in her own district might take to heart.

WHAT’S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill…

It may be Friday, but there is one hearing set today — a field hearing in Little Rock, Arkansas:

  • House Financial Services, Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee — Broken Promises: Failures of the Little Rock Housing Authority and the Impact on Residents

Thursday Votes:

The Senate passed H.R. 6644 (the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act) 89-10. But failed to pass the motion to invoke cloture on H.R. 7147 (the DHS funding measure).

White House What’s Up

President Trump was up late on Thursday, sharing his thoughts on Iran:

But that isn’t keeping him from a busy Friday:

  • 8:00 AM  — THE PRESIDENT participates in Executive Time — The White House
  • 2:00 PM — THE PRESIDENT signs Executive Orders — Oval Office
  • 3:00 PM — THE PRESIDENT participates in a Greeting with the National Finals Rodeo Winners — Oval Office
  • THE PRESIDENT departs the White House en route to Palm Beach, Florida

Also, later today, Vice President JD Vance will visit Rocky Mount, North Carolina, where he will deliver remarks.

Keeping Up With the Cabinet

Dir. Office of Management and Budget – Russ Vought — Vought reportedly is assuming a greater oversight role over the Department of Homeland Security.

Full Court Press…

We had an interesting ruling out of Missouri on Thursday regarding redistricting — look for an article on that later today. Also, a 9th Circuit dissent regarding a women’s spa in Washington has eyebrows raised and is prompting frantic calls for the fainting couch. Stay tuned!

COMING ATTRACTIONS

President Trump will spend the weekend at Mar-a-Lago, where he has Executive Time on his calendar for both mornings, and then a MAGA Inc. Roundtable dinner on Saturday evening.

MORNING MUSING

When I first saw the screenshot in this tweet, I thought perhaps it had been doctored. Surely, that wasn’t an actual New York Times headline, was it?

Sure enough, though — it’s real. And it’s…well, I don’t even know what to say about it, really. Seems like that headline is leaving out a critical portion of that story arc, no?

The legacy media is a dumpster fire.

LIGHTER FARE

Can’t watch this and not smile. 😊
