A lawyer whose lover fell from the top floor of a luxury hotel in Bali is facing fresh charges related to the incident.
Zagi Kozarov, 52, appeared in Broadmeadows Magistrates Court via video link on Monday for a special mention, facing stalking charges.
The court heard Kozarov had been slapped with several new Commonwealth charges related to allegations she used a carriage service to menace someone related to the tragedy.
Crown prosecutor Shaun Ginsbourg, SC, told the court the charges were linked to the Bali tragedy.
‘Ms Kozarov has been charged, and the fact that she’s been charged with stalking, in particular, in connection with a very tragic event, which I won’t elaborate on for present purposes, has been published previously,’ he said.
Kozarov is being investigated by officers assisting a coronial investigation into the death of Geelong footy coach Zoran Vidovic.

Kozarov had been holidaying with Mr Vidovic when he died after falling from a hotel balcony in Bali in January 2024.
It remains unclear who Kozarov is accused of stalking, but it is understood to be a person closely linked to her late partner.
The mother-of-two desperately tried to save Mr Vidovic, 53, as he teetered on the edge of a top-floor restaurant terrace at the Apurva Kempinski Hotel in Sawangan, Nusa Dua.
She was unable to hold onto him and he plunged eight metres into a garden bed below, suffering serious injuries and later dying after hotel staff transported him to hospital in the back of a car.
‘I looked into his eyes and told him I loved him, and tried to pull him back,’ she wept as she relived the harrowing incident, Kozarov previously told the Daily Mail.
‘But I’m only 5’3 – I couldn’t pull him over the glass barrier.
‘I was surrounded by around 15 to 20 men – but they weren’t doing anything. They were just talking on their walkie-talkies.
‘They could have saved him but no one did anything to help me. No one was trying to pull him to safety.’
Mr Vidovic’s body was flown back to Australia after the January 28 tragedy, and a service was held in his memory at GHMBA Stadium in his hometown of Geelong, Victoria, the following month.
However, Kozarov said she was stopped from joining hundreds of friends and family members who packed out the stadium’s huge social room to farewell him.
The pair had been in a relationship for four years at the time of his death, and were making wedding plans after Mr Vidovic presented Kozarov with a ring just before they flew out to Bali for the three-week stay at the five-star resort.
But she claimed she had been shunned and silenced by Mr Vidovic’s ex-wife and family.

On Monday, her lawyer, top silk Nick Papas KC, told the court his client hoped to have details of the case suppressed due to ongoing mental health issues.
‘There’s deep psychological and psychiatric issues involved for the accused,’ he said.
Mr Papas claimed his client had endured ‘numerous leaks from various sources’ about her personal circumstances, fuelling concerns over privacy and safety.
Mr Ginsbourg had opposed the implementation of an interim suppression order, arguing details of the charges had already been reported.
The issue is likely to return to court over the coming days, with the substantial matter adjourned until next month.
According to court documents, Kozarov is accused of stalking her alleged victim over a period in late 2023.
The allegations relate to numerous emails police allege were written in a way that ‘could reasonably be expected to cause mental harm to the victim’.
In March 2024, Kozarov told Daily Mail she had been asked by her partner’s family not to attend his memorial.
‘I was firmly warned by his family that I was to stay away,’ she said then.
‘They did not approve of our relationship and did not want us together.’

‘I respect and understand people grieve in different ways – and they are looking to place blame to deal with the hurt of losing a loved one.
‘They are in a world of hurt and that’s to be expected – but they forget I loved him deeply too.
‘I am heartbroken I was not permitted to attend my partner/fiancé’s memorial. I was unable to share my grief with others over the loss of my beloved Zoran.
‘Our love was not acknowledged or validated despite everyone – including his sports club, friends and his family – knowing about our relationship.
‘This has made my grief even more intense, especially that my family, friends and I were excluded from attending on the day of his memorial… and yet Zoran shared a close relationship with us all.’
Mr Vidovic, widely known as ‘Zoc’, grew up in Geelong where he was heavily involved in the Bell Park Sport and Recreation Club for more than 30 years, coaching football and playing cricket.
He was head of retail in Oceania for Puma, having previously worked for Cotton On, Billabong and Target. Friends said he lived for his daughters, Bella and Lula, who were aged 21 and 18 respectively at the time of his death.
