Democrats Cry ‘Who Will Pick Our Crops’ Over California ICE Raid, but the Details Are Far More Disturbing

So to recap, Newsom and others ran to trash ICE for conducting a raid on a weed farm that was allegedly using illegal immigrant children to work its fields.

Alan Dershowitz Drops Bombshells, Says There Is in Fact an Epstein Client List—and He Knows Who’s on It

The sick Jeffrey Epstein case has transfixed Americans for going on two decades now, and many have found their trust in the authorities eroded because they don’t feel they’re being told the truth.

Here’s What We’ve Learned About Those Multiple Suspended Secret Service Agents

In a post on X, RealClearPolitics National Political Correspondent Susan Crabtree wrote that “Key supervisors who signed off on the Butler security plan and two who were on the final walkthroughs before the J13 [July 13, 024] rally were never disciplined but instead received BIG PROMOTIONS, multiple sources in the Secret Service community tell RealClearPolitics @RCPolitics.”

FBI Issues Report After Examining P320 Pistol Following ‘Uncommanded Discharge’

I just want Sig to fix the damn guns. Most of their firearms work great. I have friends who love their P365s, for example, and a lot of people love their P320s.

Smart Move, Lee Zeldin

It is a sign of how far trust in our government has fallen that many people worry about such things. The government has earned much of that distrust, of course. But in most cases, you can explain bad outcomes by looking for institutional inertia, ass-covering, following the money, and all the normal human failings.

New Jersey’s Blue Wall Is Crumbling, and Democrats Know It

Their sudden spending blitz in New Jersey is a sign of desperation. After years of mismanagement, Democrats are trying to buy back voter trust at the last minute, but voters aren’t so easily fooled.

The Roots of Leftist Rage

Add it all up, and the impotent left in all its orthodox and street manifestations has become unhinged.

POPCORN! Libs of TikTok Completely BROKE Gavin Newsom Last Night and We All Got to Watch

ALL of Newsom’s dirty (French) laundry got brought up last night, including this embarrassing blast from the past.

WHAT’S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill…

It’s Friday, so, of course, there are no meetings or hearings set on the Hill, but the House will be back in session next week, and there are quite a few hearings set that should be of interest.

Meanwhile, the Senate is facing a critical deadline next Friday to pass the rescissions package put forth by the White House, with some Republicans dragging their feet and President Donald Trump urging them to get with the program.

White House What’s Up

President Trump and First Lady Melania are headed to Kerrville, Texas, today to survey the damage wreaked by last week’s horrific flash floods. They’ll participate in a roundtable with first responders and local officials while there. After that, they’ll head to Bedminster, New Jersey, for the weekend.

Full Court Press…

We had a post-CASA district court ruling on birthright citizenship yesterday, which was interesting. The Supreme Court, of course, dispensed with the use of nationwide injunctions in the birthright citizenship context in CASA v. Trump. In light of that ruling, New Hampshire District Court Judge Joseph Laplante blocked President Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship — not via a nationwide injunction, but by certifying a provisional class, which was one of the methods anticipated in the wake of the decision.

Margot Cleveland has a great explainer on this ruling here:

In other court news, as we near the one-year anniversary of the assassination attempt on President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, the other would-be assassin, Ryan Routh, whose trial is set in September, has asked to waive his right to defense counsel and proceed pro se — i.e., representing himself. Judge Aileen Cannon has not yet ruled on Routh’s request, but has made it clear that she does not intend to delay the trial.

COMING ATTRACTIONS

As noted above, there are a number of hearings set next week on the Hill. One we’ll definitely want to keep an eye on is set for July 16: The House Homeland Security Committee will host a hearing titled, “An Inside Job: How NGOs Facilitated the Biden Border Crisis.”

MORNING MUSING

For all of our regular (and righteous) griping about the legacy media and its noxious bias, I have no real beef with CNBC, its parent company notwithstanding. But they made a glaring error yesterday, and when I had the audacity to point it out on X, I learned that there are apparently CNBC-stans. Here’s the tweet in question:

Whoa — that’s a pretty big deal, no? Well…yeah…except that Trump “lost” that appeal back in December. Heck — I wrote about it here when it happened.

The only thing that happened yesterday was that the court issued its mandate — basically, an administrative action that confirms that the court’s judgment is final and now appealable to a higher court — in this instance, the Supreme Court — should either of the parties wish to pursue it. I don’t know whether Trump will pursue an appeal to SCOTUS on this one or not. He might — I certainly wouldn’t fault him for it. We’ll have to see.

In the meantime, my tweeting at CNBC to do its homework apparently ruffled some feathers. I won’t repost the responses, but I got called a cultist, a yokel, and stupid for…clarifying that the story CNBC was reporting as if it had just happened actually happened nearly seven months ago.

So, if you’re ever in the mood to mix it up on X, apparently, all you need to do is correct CNBC (or another legacy outfit), and the flying monkeys will descend upon you. 🤷‍♀️
