Chile… you know the internet will clock it every time somebody holds a celebration that’s beyond the norm. And babyyyy, that’s exactly what Kaky Daniel did for her 40th. After losing her boyfriend unexpectedly on the eve of her birthday years ago, Daniel didn’t just crumble. She gathered the women who held her down through the darkest moments and turned all that pain into something downright unforgettable.

Kaky Daniel Said “I Do” To Her Tribe
According to a PEOPLE exclusive, after losing her boyfriend, Giovanni Paolo Ronghi, Kaky Daniel struggled for years to imagine celebrating her Nov. 16 birthday at all. Giovanni had unexpectedly died at 29 years old in Mexico on the eve of her birthday in 2022.
So instead of walking down a traditional aisle, she reclaimed that day by exchanging vows with 70 of her closest friends. In what she called a “sisterhood wedding” — a celebration of love, loyalty, and friendship, Daniel and her homegirls said “I Do.”
Held over three days in Cartagena, Colombia, the $250,000 celebration included an all-green welcome reception at a hotel, an after-party, and a private island day at Zamaz Barú. Additionally, Daniel wore a beaded gown with a custom veil embroidered with her friends’ names. Meanwhile, the 70 women all wore white bridal dresses and engagement bracelets.
“Why shouldn’t I say vows to the women who were at my side at the funeral home when he died, and who helped me grieve the man I thought I would marry?” Daniel revealed. “This wedding was my way of honoring the people who loved me back to life.”
70 Friends, 1 Bride, And A Whole Lot Of Love
Instead of committing to a romantic partner, Daniel stood before her friends and pledged herself to them and to herself. As further stated, the group shared vows about loyalty, encouragement, emotional support, and celebrating each other’s wins. With the Caribbean Sea and Cartagena’s historic walled city as a backdrop, the women engaged in a 30-minute ceremony. The festivities continued with dancing through the streets, traditional performers, live music, and a heartfelt celebration. “Without my sisterhood, I would not be the woman I am today,” Daniel shared. “I wanted to immortalize that love in an experience none of us will ever forget.”
When The Whole Celebration Hits Different
Listen… at first the girls were confused, concerned, and low-key texting each other like, “A sisterhood what now?” But the moment they realized it was really about honoring the women who kept her standing, the whole vibe flipped — suddenly everybody was all in. Guests described the experience as life-changing, with some saying it healed parts of them they didn’t know were broken. Furthermore, Daniel called the event, “part wedding, part tribute, part healing ceremony, part celebration of abundance.” And, she proved that love isn’t just romantic — it’s about the community that lifts you up through everything.
