The grey skies in York were no match for the colourful frocks, feathers and fascinators on display for Ladies’ Day at the race course this afternoon.
Visitors donned every shade – from bright pink and orange to baby blue – as they showed up sporting their best for Ebor Festival on Thursday.
Dubbed the ‘social highlight’ of the weekend, those in attendance are encouraged to ‘dress to impress for fabulous prizes on the Ebor Fashion Lawn’.
According to the website, this is also the day where the ‘highest rated mare and fillies race in Europe’.
‘The Group 1 Pertemps Network Yorkshire Oaks, takes place on this day,’ it added.
The races will also enjoy a royal presence today, as Queen Camilla is in attendance to unveil a plaque in recognition of the ‘Juddmonte International’ race.
Her Majesty is also set to meet representatives from local charities supported by the track, members of the Yorkshire racing community and members of the York Racecourse team.

The Ebor Festival kicked off yesterday and will wrap up on Saturday. Visitors are encouraged to ‘join the buzz of a big race day with your friends’
