A young Aussie girl has died while on a family holiday overseas after she was swept away in fast-flowing creek.
The 10-year-old fell into the Marian Creek, in Fiordland National Park, in New Zealand, on Thursday morning around 11.40am.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and found the girl and pulled her from the water.

First responders performed CPR on her but she could not be saved.
Southland Area Commander Inspector Mike Bowman said the incident has left the girl’s family devastated.
‘This has been a traumatic event for those involved and police are providing [the family] with support,’ Inspector Bowman said.
‘We would like to extend our sincere condolences to them.’
Inspector Bowman thanked emergency crews and the public in their efforts to help save the girl.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.

Fiordland National Park is located around 170km southwest of Queenstown in New Zealand’s south island.
