Early life and education
Darya was born into an all-athletic family, as both her mother and father were competing in several sports before they became parents – Darya hasn’t talked much about them, but occasionally mentions how they are to be credited with the birth of her passion towards sports.
Darya began walking the path of an athlete when she was eight years old – she started playing volleyball and was very good at it, however, she got bored with it by the time she turned 13, and switched to athletics, long jump to be specific. She had the full support of her father who was a long jumper as well during his 20s, so there was nothing to stop Darya from striving in the long jump contests. She went on to attend high school, but remained mostly focused on sports.
After she matriculated, Darya completely focused on her career of a long jumper, and decided not to enroll at college – her parents somewhat disagreed, but still allowed her to do whatever she wanted.
Career of a long jumper
Darya set her first record on 26 June 2010 when she jumped 7.03m – it was the best Russian junior jump and the second best junior jump of all time, and the second longest in the whole world – even though everyone was expecting Darya to compete at the 2010 World Junior Athletics Championships, she wasn’t selected.
She kept exercising during the next six years, and competed at smaller contests before she was selected to compete at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Summer Olympics – the IAAF organization suspended Russia from competing because some of their competitors were caught doping, however, they changed their decision on 13 August 2016 for athletes proven to be ‘clean’, allowing Darya to compete. She went on to win ninth place, but it was the first time in over 20 years that a girl from Russia didn’t manage to win a medal in the long jump discipline.
Darya’s last notable appearance was at the 2017 World Athletics Championships held in London where she won a silver medal, just two centimeters behind Brittney Reese who jumped 7.02m.
Darya’s workout plan and her diet
Darya follows specific exercises for people who compete in the long jump discipline, while she also does body weight movements, and gym exercises. Some of her favorite exercises include front squats, dumbbell step-ups, and counter-movement.
Darya is on a diet which is very similar to those being followed by fitness models. She doesn’t eat fast food or anything that has sugar in it, and is trying to stay away from fat. She has a calculated daily intake of protein and carbs, and her usual daily meals consist of chicken, fish, eggs, vegetables, fruits, and plenty of water.
Love life and relationships
Darya is very secretive when it comes to her love life, as she hasn’t shared a single detail regarding her past and present affairs with the public, however, her secrecy has only led her fans to create rumors.
One is that Darya was dating a man with whom she worked out in 2017 – the two were competing at the same contest, and were therefore spending a lot of their time together which eventually turned into a relationship. They were together for nearly half a year before they split due to a lack of passion.
Darya is currently said to be dating a man whom she met while she was on her way to the gym. The man in question recognized her in the street and asked if he could have coffee with her as he was her fan – the two were an instant match, and have allegedly been together for several months now, however, this hasn’t been confirmed by Darya.

Judging by her social media accounts and her secrecy, Darya currently appears to be single, hasn’t married, and doesn’t have any kids.
Hobbies and other interests
Darya might be very passionate about sports and the long jump, but she still has numerous other interests and things she enjoys doing in her free time.
Darya loves to travel and she has been all around Europe – this started when she began attending international competitions, and she then wanted to see new countries. She has so far been to Turkey, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Spain and a couple of other countries. She is a nature lover, and enjoys spending her time up in the mountains and in woods and forests, but she also enjoys being at the beach. She is a lover of animals, and has a pet dog whose name is not known – she often takes her dog with her on her travels.
Darya is planning on writing a book on exercising and the long jump, but has stated how she is not sure when this book would be published.

Darya is currently 28 years old. She has long blonde hair and blue eyes, is 5ft 11ins (1.8m) tall, and weighs around 130lbs (58kgs).
