Will Herthie Shields was born on the 15th September 1971, in Fort Riley, Kansas USA, and is a retired professional American Football offensive guard, who spent his entire playing career with the Kansas City Chiefs from, 1993 until 2006.

Will went to Lawton High School, located in the town of Lawton in Oklahoma. While there he played for the high school football team, and after matriculation enrolled at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. During his college years, he played for the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team from 1989-92, and won the Outland Trophy in 1992, and was a Consensus All-American the same year.

In the 1993 NBA Draft he was selected as the 74th overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs, and played for the franchise until his retirement in 2006. During his stint at Kansas, Will played in every single game, which is now the second longest active consecutive starting streak in the NFL- 231 including post-season games – now superseded by the Green Bay Packers’ quarterback Brett Favre.

During his career, Will blocked for such running backs as Marcus Allen, Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson. He was one of the integral parts of the Chiefs’ offensive line that consistently finished in the top five in rushing offense. Will’s net worth increased significantly over the years, as he extended over and over his stay at Kansas. Thanks to his great performances, Will made 12 consecutive Pro-Bowl appearances from 1995 until 2006; also he was named into the First-team All-Pro three times, in 1999, 2002 and 2003, while into the Second-team All-Pro four times, 1997, 2004, 2005 and 2006. Furthermore, Will was inducted into Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Fame in 2012, and Pro Football Hall of Fame the same year. A year earlier he had been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Since retiring, Will bought and now operates 68 Inside Sports, a general sports and gymnasium facility in Overland Park, Kansas, so maintaining his net worth, and no doubt passing on his skills and knowledge to his patrons.

Regarding his personal life, Will is married to Senia with whom he has three children, including basketball players Shavon and Sanayika.

Will is also known for his philanthropic endeavors; back in 1993 he started the Will to Succeed Foundation, which helps women and children who have suffered abuse, while also creating scholarship programs. Thanks to his contribution, Will won the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award in 2003.
