Arsenal‘s bid to land Dusan Vlahovic this month has been dealt a major blow after reports in Italy claimed that the striker only wants to join Juventus.

Vlahovic, 21, has recently emerged as one of the brightest young strikers in European football, netting 41 goals in his last 62 appearances for Fiorentina.

His most recent strike came in Fiorentina’s 6-0 mauling of Genoa, which saw the Serbian striker miss a first-half penalty before atoning for his miss by smashing in his side’s fourth on Monday evening.

And during the game, it appeared as if Vlahovic waved goodbye to the Fiorentina supporters, signalling he is about to leave the club in the January window.

His actions sparked scenes of pandemonium on Twitter by Arsenal fans, with the Gunners continuously linked with the Serbian goal-machine.

However, according to Italian journalist Giacomo Scutiero, Arsenal stand no chance of landing Vlahovic.

That is because the striker has already agreed terms with Juventus back in October, with the Old Lady reportedly agreeing to pay Vlahovic’s agent’s sky-high comission fees.

Scutiero also claims that Vlahovic is the only player Juve are willing to ‘spend big’ on – and even suggested that the player ‘doesn’t care’ if Juventus fail to secure Champions League football for next season.

Fiorentina want Vlahovic to sign a contract extension, with his current deal ending in June 2023.

But after the player appeared to wave goodbye in the thrashing of Genoa, Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Italiano remained coy over Vlahovic’s future.

Asked for an update on the situation in the aftermath of Fiorentina’s win, Italiano said: ‘At the moment we enjoy Dusan here at Fiorentina, he’s with us – I don’t know about the future.

‘He scored a great goal today. I see him very motivated and relaxed.’
