Arsenal have knocked back Premier League approaches for Emile Smith Rowe.

Aston Villa, Newcastle and West Ham are among those who were interested in the 23-year-old England international this month, but Arsenal have told those interested that they want him to stay at the Emirates Stadium.

Smith Rowe is focusing on breaking back into Mikel Arteta’s starting line-up, despite starting only two games this season – against Brentford in the Carabao Cup and Sheffield United in the Premier League.

A loan away from Arsenal might arguably have benefitted the young attacker, but Smith Rowe is believed to be happy at the club under Arteta.

West Ham felt the talented technician could have helped them with their shortage of attackers, particularly after Lucas Paqueta’s calf injury.
