Borussia Dortmund want Jadon Sancho to join them on their training camp in Marbella next week as they push for a quick solution to negotiations with Manchester United.

Talks were ongoing on Wednesday over a six month loan with Dortmund chief executive Sebastian Kehl offering around £3m towards the deal for the 23-year-old.

Sancho has been exiled from the first-team squad and training alone since October after his public fall-out with Erik ten Hag.

He was a fan favourite in his previous stint at Dortmund from 2017 to 2021, scoring 50 goals in 137 games and winning the German Cup and Super Cup.

Since his £73m switch to Old Trafford in 2021 he has not had the same impact and  Ten Hag questioned his training performances when he dropped him earlier this season.

United want another forward this window, ideally on loan, because of financial fair play. They hold an interest in Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise who has a release clause but that is not active until the summer.

Also on their striker shortlist are Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy, and RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner.
