Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot and Ruben Amorim have laid flowers on behalf of Manchester United at the Anfield memorial for Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva.
Fernandes and Dalot lifted the Nations League trophy alongside Jota last month after Portugal beat Spain on penalties in Munich, just weeks before the Liverpool star and his brother died in a car crash in northern Spain.
Jota was returning to Liverpool for pre-season training after winning the Premier League title last season when his Lamborghini left the road in Zamora. Jota was 28 and his brother, a player for Liga Portugal 2 side Penafiel, was 25.
The United duo and the club’s Portuguese coach Amorim arrived at Anfield on Monday dressed all in black carrying a wreath in memory of the two brothers and a card that read: ‘Rest in peace Diogo and Andre, with deepest condolences from everyone at Manchester United.’

In the aftermath of the tragedy, Fernandes posted a heartfelt message on social media earlier this month, saying: ‘Friend, colleague and companion in a thousand battles, it is difficult to understand how it is possible for someone to leave so soon. May you and your brother find the peace you need to look after those you lost so soon and suddenly. My condolences to your entire family.’
Dalot added simply: ‘Devastating… speechless… much strength to the family.’
