LAFC right winger Carlos Vela may be set to make a move to cross-town rivals the LA Galaxy, according to AS.

The report stated that the Galaxy have made approaches to Vela’s entourage while he is currently a free agent.

Vela’s former club Real Sociedad as well as fellow MLS team NYFC have also been rumored to be interested in signing Vela.

The Mexican forward also recently removed all mentions of LAFC from his Instagram bio which has only fueled the rumors that he is planning on leaving the team.

Last month Vela said to reporters: ‘We’ll have talks and we’ll see if I can carry on playing here. I’d be delighted to stay, but if not, I’ll look for something else and will keep enjoying the little time I have left playing soccer.’

Vela has spent the last six seasons with LAFC and won the MLS Cup and a Golden Boot award. During those six years he has made 188 appearances and recorded 93 goals and 54 assists.

The 34-year-old is also known to have a good relationship with new Galaxy general manger Will Kuntz.

Before beginning his position with the Galaxy Kuntz was employed by LAFC as well.

Vela is not the only major player that LAFC are at risk of seeing head to greener -or at least different- pastures as well.

MLS Golden Boot winner Denis Bouanga recently stated that he wanted to make the jump from Major League Soccer to Europe.

‘My objective is clear and stated: I would like to come back and play in France or in a European club,’ Bouanga said
