Chelsea have agreed a loan deal with Bayern Munich potentially worth up to £69.2million

Chelsea have agreed a loan deal with Bayern Munich potentially worth up to £69.2million (€80m) for Nicolas Jackson with the striker given permission to fly to complete his transfer.

It is not the guarantee of a clean separation that the Blues had been insisting on, but they will receive an initial world record £13m fee for loaning Jackson away for the 2025-26 season

They will then get a further £56.2m if Bayern decide to exercise their option to make the move permanent next summer. Chelsea would also retain a sell-on fee for the player.

Jackson already has a pre-contract agreed with Bayern, where he will join an attack that already contains Harry Kane up front.

Jackson previously told Chelsea that he wanted to explore his options, as revealed by Daily Mail Sport. That saw him left out of their pre-season friendlies and also their opening fixtures in the Premier League.

It came after the club signed Joao Pedro and Liam Delap over the summer, meaning he had serious competition for minutes.

Enzo Maresca resisted forcing him to train with the other ‘bomb squad’ members in case he ended up staying.

Chelsea had been waiting to see what happens with Alexander Isak at Newcastle before committing to moving on their own goalscorer, in the hope that it would see others come in for him.

They had placed a valuation north of £80m on him originally. There is the possibility of Jackson returning next summer if Bayern do not take up their option when Chelsea would be forced to try to sell him all over again.
