A Crystal Palace star has revealed he is open to leaving the club and hopes it happens in the current transfer window

A Crystal Palace star has revealed he is open to leaving the club this summer despite only signing a new deal in April.

The Seagulls are facing a summer of having to try and cling onto their star players, with the likes of Eberechi Eze, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Marc Guehi all linked with moves away.

They haven’t lost anyone yet, but another name has now been added to that list in a transfer window that could dismantle the FA Cup winners’ squad.

Having only signed a new contract in April, wing back Daniel Munoz has opened up on how he is keen to eventually depart to join a bigger club.

Munoz, 29, joined Palace in January 2024 for £8.5million and has been one of their star players since. He has made 62 appearances for the club, scoring six goals to date.

He had seemed settled at the club having signed his new deal until 2028, but, after a string of impressive performances, he has surprisingly spoken out and raised uncertainty over his future at Selhurst Park.

‘I want to play for the best teams in the world, but they haven’t spoken to me directly,’ Munoz told Win Sports TV, via The Sun, in Colombia. ‘I dream and work every day to achieve it, and I hope it can happen as soon as possible.

‘I hope it’s in this window, but if not, I’m very happy at Crystal Palace.’

Any departure would be a major hit to Palace, who face stiff competition from Arsenal to maintain the services of Eze. Guehi, meanwhile, is linked with Liverpool, while Mateta is being monitored by a number of clubs.

The news is a blow to Palace, who were kicked out of the Europa League on Friday amid multi-club ownership issues.

An issue arose when it became clear John Textor, who also owned shares in French side Lyon, was also involved with Crystal Palace and had not settled the issue by March’s deadline.

Textor rushed to sell his shares, but the deadline had well passed, and the decision has now been made to not allow the Premier League side to take part next season – instead, they have been demoted to the Conference League.

There was hope for Palace when Lyon were relegated to Ligue 2 due to financial issues, but their appeal was successful and they will play in the Europa League because they finished higher in their respective league than Palace – who came 12th in the English top flight.
