Fans believe Igor Tudor mistook Tottenham’s player liaison officer Allan Dixon for Arne Slot in an awkward gaffe before his side faced Liverpool.
The interim Spurs boss was looking to shake the hands of his counterpart at Anfield when he made a beeline for Dixon, who is Daniel Levy’s brother-in-law, before the game.
Approaching from behind, Tudor then tapped Dixon on the shoulder before embracing him and smiling, as the stony-faced Spurs staff member gave him an awkward stare.
Dixon quickly gave Tudor a pat on the chest, and the Croat shuffled towards the Anfield dugout where he eventually shook hands with Slot before the game.
As the video went viral, fans rushed to social media with conspiracy theories that Tudor believed Dixon was the Liverpool boss.
‘Did anyone else just see Igor Tudor go up to the wrong bald bloke thinking he was Arne Slot?’ one wrote, accompanied by laughing and crying emojis.

Another said: ‘Looool no way he thought Levy’s brother in law was Slot.’
A third penned: ‘Igor Tudor tried greeting Arne Slot before Spurs vs Liverpool, only to realize it was actually Spurs staff member Allan Dixon… another bald man.’
Meanwhile, a prominent Spurs account posted: ‘Igor Tudor went to greet Arne Slot before the game, and it appears he instead tapped Tottenham’s own player liaison officer Allan Dixon.’
Despite having a close personal relationship with former Spurs Levy, Dixon maintained his role at the club after the arrival of the Lewis family ownership.
Some of his responsibilities include communicating with the fourth official on the touchline about substitutions, as well as speaking with players when they have been sent off.
Tudor took Spurs into the game at Anfield level on points with 17th and 18th-placed West Ham and Nottingham Forest.
His relegation-threatened side went 1-0 down in the tie thanks to a Dominik Szoboszlai free-kick.
