The Glazer family will not be present at Sir Bobby Charlton’s funeral, according to reports.

Sir Bobby – who is widely regarded as one of the greatest players to ever grace the game – passed away at the age of 86 following a battle with dementia last month.

He made 758 appearances for United while also earning 106 caps for his beloved country and has a stand named after him at Old Trafford.

United staff and supporters have been mourning the club legend since his passing and the world will bid farewell to him at a service in Manchester on Monday.

And the Glazer family are set to further damage their relationship with fans by not attending, according to The Daily Star.

It is understood that the Glazers made the decision to avoid abuse from supporters overshadowing the ceremony.

They want Chalrton to be the focus of the headlines rather than them but it will no doubt be a move that draws criticism itself.

The Glazers knew Charlton well with the icon having been director of the club and a regular presence at Old Trafford until his diagnosis three years ago.

If there is a last minute change of heart then it will be Joel Glazer representing the family at the service.`
