Tottenham approach Liverpool over Robertson

Liverpool have received an approach from Tottenham for Andy Robertson who is out of contract this summer.

Given Robertson’s contract situation, his stated desire to resolve his future and Liverpool’s appreciation for the service he has given them, they have entered into preliminary discussions.

The club underline that these discussions are preliminary and no outcome has yet been reached.

Foremost in their thinking will be the best interests of Liverpool’s squad and for Robertson who has been an outstanding servant since 2017.

Boss Arne Slot has also reiterated the club remain attentive to transfer opportunities this window, but expects little activity over the next 10 days.

Slot said: ‘Yeah that’s what I expect, yeah. But, as I always say, if there’s an opportunity in the market and we think we can strengthen the squad, this club will always try to do so.

‘But at this moment in time I expect it to stay mostly the same.’

Kostas Tsimikas could yet return from his loan at Roma amid interest from the likes of Nottingham Forest while the onus is on Aston Villa to resolve Harvey Elliott’s future.

Leeds bid for Strand Larsen rejected

Leeds United have had an opening bid for Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen rejected by Wolves as they follow up on their initial enquiry from last week.

Talks are ongoing. Wolves value the Norway international at £40m and Crystal Palace remain in the frame.

Leeds also want to strengthen their attack and cover at left back.
